Narcissus Cyclamineus 'Jetfire'

Jetfire dwarf daffodils flower in bright orange and yellow in early spring. They form part of our dwarf daffodil bulbs collection.

Jetfire dwarfs do exactly what they say on the tin, a dainty daffodil offering a show stopping explosion of colour early on in the year during March. Its solitary flowers at 7cm in length are made up of bright yellow perianth and a long trumpet shaped corona of bright orange.

With a slight scent, its reflexed petals give a sturdy daffodil an otherwise windswept appearance. Standing on narrow bright green leafless stems, they can grow up to 20-25cm in height with a small spread of around 10cm. Hardy with an average rate of growth.

Jetfire typically forms in clumps and, although not tall, look particularly effective when planted in bold groups or clusters. They are ideal for planting a range of settings; pots, rockeries, patio containers or at the front of a border. How to grow Narcissus 'Jetfire'

• Group 6: Cyclamineus Daffodil
• When: plant in autumn
• Position: full sun to partial shade
• Soil: able to tolerate most soils but best when planted in moderately fertile and well drained. Keep soil constantly wet whilst growing. Consider a fertiliser starter.
• Depth: one and a half to two times the bulbs depth
• Gardener's tip: dead-head after flowering and allow leaves to die back naturally. Propagate by removing offsets as the leaves begin to fade.
