The Double Early Tulip 'Abba' would appear to hale more properly from the Vatican than Sweden. The petals of the flower are the most striking cardinal red colour and morph into scarlet at the perimeter. The arrangement of double petals makes them resemble a peony with all its blowsy frivolity but luckily Abba has a really sturdy stem to ground it making it a proper Dancing Queen in windy conditions. The lance shaped leaves are a mid grey green that complements the glowing red of the flower. Unusually in the tulip world, Abba also has a wonderful, light fragrance making it a number one hit for all tulip lovers.
