Description
Tulipa White Triumphator
The White Triumphator tulip is the most staggeringly beautiful tulip. The sort of flower that surrounds angels in pictures. It is the purest of whites with no streaks or marks to blemish it. Each petal is slightly pointed, long, and strongly reflexed backwards giving the flower its waist and immaculate form. Balancing on top of a pure green stalk it is an extremely chic and minimalist. Tulip Heaven
Vita Sackville-West made her white garden at Sissinghurst the benchmark for such endeavours. Anyone trying to emulate her by creating their own white border or garden should without question include this statuesque and unadorned tulip. Imagine the classic White Triumphator emerging out of the foliage of a sprawling Clematis x jouiniana 'Praecox’ before it has flowered, to be followed by the scent and bridal exuberance of Philadelphus 'Belle Etoile' and you begin to see how easy it could be. But like a well-cut dress, White Triumphator flatters many situations and cools some of the more explosive tulips like Apeldoorn or Pink Impression which both flower at the same time or mixes well with other whiter shades of pale like the viridiflora Spring Green or Triumph tulips White Dream or Hemisphere. Other good combinations are with Bronze Fennel or with purple wallflowers. If you do place White Triumphator in pots, locate them in a sheltered position so that the tulips are not blown over and make sure that the planter is large enough to balance out height of the tulip.
