Bareroot rose bushes were grafted about 2 years prior to delivery, and were cut back hard leaving around 30-40cm of top growth, which will encourage strong regrowth from the base.

Standard or "tree roses" have a clear stem 100cm tall.

Pot sizes are measured by their volume in litres, except for the smallest size, 9cm / p9 pots, which are roughly half a litre.

Growing Summer Gold Roses

Our advice is to keep it pruned on the short side, about 60cms, otherwise its slim stems have a tendency to droop under the weight of the flowers when they are mature,  which makes it hard to appreciate them. After you remove the usual unwanted wood in spring, cut down the stems that you want to 20cm above the ground. If you want to use this rose mainly for cutting, then this minor flaw is not an issue, and you can cut it back less.

Bred by the renowned Mr & Mrs Olesen at Poulsen Roser in Denmark, it has gone by a fistful of name since its release in 1995 under the code POUlreb: Eurostar, Marselisborg Castle, Schloss Neuschwanstein, Summer Star, and Yellowstone. The Eurostar train opened on 14 November 1994, so the name would have been modern and exciting at the time
