April Weather: Bareroot Season Extension!

Last month we looked at the weather forecast for the fictional city of Leeds and proposed the real likelihood of a late Spring.
Although there were some warmer days, there were also colder nights, with frost much as predicted.

Looking at the April forecast, there are cold (under 7C) nights for the first 12 days, effectively extending the bareroot season.

Then comes 6 days where it looks like it’s warming, marked in orange, followed by a week of chill: that’s good for new plants, it reduces stress. Colder inland areas up North could get frost that week, keep an eye out.

It looks like the night of April 26th will be offically safe for putting tender things outside.

The big red line marks the end of “late Winter to early Spring” weather, but the second half of April stays pretty cool, with a moderate amount of rain: ideal for new plants
