Ashridge: A Rural Nightmare Audiodrama

In this shamelessly low effort blog post, I share with you Tony Walker’s chilling series of supernatural stories set in the fictional town of Ashridge, which doesn’t exist just down the road from us in Castle Cary

At my age, a great many people have called me lazy. They are nowhere to be seen now, so it looks like they learned their lesson.

While I was busy working hard, doing important business research on YouTube about handsome young Scotsman Graeme Parker and his marvellous cow hoof repair, I stumbled across Tony Walker’s Ashridge: A Rural Nightmare series.

Zounds, I exclaimed to Dan, my captive labourer, that name rings a bell!
I ordered him to dash outside to the road, inspect the sign over our warehouse, and report back before I dozed off.
My keen intuition was right on the money: my company is also called Ashridge! What luck that I was here to put the puzzle pieces together.

Pausing only to scold Dan for leaving his desk, I spent almost 15 arduous minutes in my armchair dictating this post for you.

Fair warning: this is a scary series intended for eldritch horror fans. If you are used to watching the news on television, you might find it rather tame.

Each episode works well as a stand-alone story, but for the best frightening effect they should be enjoyed in the proper order, late at night.

You can follow Tony Walker on Substack, and if you like his work as much as I do, you can buy his Haunted Castles: Four tales of castles, Gothic horror, false wives, and treacherous husbands on Amazon.

Tony has released 6 parts of this series at the time of writing, with at least two more on the way, so subscribe to his YouTube channel if you can’t wait for the next episode either.
