Waterlily dahlias have double flowers that are much flatter than they are wide: more like a fried egg than a ball. The office specification requires a waterlily dahlia flower to be at least twice as wide as it is tall. The petals are loosely packed, so the flower is more open than on a pom-pom, decorative or cactus dahlia. This generally means that they have a shorter vase life than many other dahlia types. But they make up for this by their beauty on the plant where their delicacy and colouring shines through. They tend to be larger plants and are best towards the back of the border. An essential section in our range of dahlias.
For strong establishment and the best flowering, we recommend using the Bulb Starter Rootgrow blend.
