Description
Rambling Rector - Rambling Rose
Rambling Rector has extremely profuse creamy flowers, described as an "avalanche" that waft a delightful scent. His exceptionally vigorous, healthy growth is suitable for any situation and ideal for swallowing up garages and other eyesores. To 20ft.

It seems that he was discovered around the turn of the 20th century, and the parentage is guessed to be either Rosa multiflora and Rosa moschata, or a sport of the latter. Rector was brought to market by Daisy Hill Nursery in Newry, Northern Ireland; it is not clear whether Thomas Smith, the nursery owner, discovered it or only named it. It was awarded its Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit in 1993.
