Our environmental policy reflects our unwavering dedication to sustainable practices, responsible cultivation, and the promotion of green landscapes.
Since 2020, plants that are grown in our nursery at Ashridge Trees are grown in peat-free compost. Almost all of our 3rd party growers are peat-free, and we make progress every year to improve.
We also have a biological control program in place to eradicate the use of insecticides entirely, and since 2020, we have not used neonicotinoids.
We are minimising the use of black plastic pots, and now for most plants, we use a taupe recycled polypropylene pot that can be recycled through UK kerbside recycling systems.

Where possible, we use a taupe recycled polypropylene pot that can be recycled through UK kerbside recycling systems.
78%
The majority of plants we supply are UK grown here at our nursery in Somerset, or sourced locally. Wherever possible, we will always try to source plants from the UK.

Since 2020, all the plants grown at our nursery are with peat-free compost.
100% Bee Friendly
We encourage wild bees on our nursery with uncut strips of meadow containing a mix of plants that flower year round, numerous log piles, bundles of old bamboo canes, and a pile of sand-clay mix under shelter for burrowing bees.
100%
Since 2020, we have exclusively used biological controls: no chemical insecticides, including neonicotinoids.
