Description
About White Wings
White Wingsis a single flowered hybrid tea rose reaching 4' x 3' (1.2m x .90m). Bred in Montebello, California by Alfred Krebs in 1947, White Wings is a creamy white hybrid tea with sweetly scented blooms in clusters that it produces continuously the summer. The flowers have papery petals and russet anthers providing a striking contrast and making it a very showy rose indeed. It is reasonably disease resistant and will keep providing a good show with regular deadheading. It prefers sun or full sun but will tolerate a small amount of shade.
Great for your garden
White Wings makes a very good specimen rose flowering, as it does, all summer. It bears delightful, papery cream single flowers that have a sweet old rose fragrance. It is small, reaching a maximum height of 4', and is, therefore, best as a specimen or at the front of the border. The startling contrast of the creamy petals and russet coloured anthers means it can look spectacular when grown in groups of 3 or 5. It is quite thorny but has good foliage setting off the blooms. It needs pruning hard as do all hybrid teas and will respond well to being mulched in the spring and autumn.
