Description
Tuscany Superb - Shrub Rose
Tuscany Superb is an old gallica shrub rose with semi-double, heavily scented deep velvety dark red flowers. Upright in habit with dark green leaves.
About Tuscany Superb
Tuscany Superb is a gallica shrub rose which is a sport from 'Tuscany' - known as the 'Old Velvet Rose' - and may date back to before 1500. Tuscany Superb is slightly more vigorous than its parent and therefore a better variety for the gardener. The deep rich red of its flowers and prominent coronet of yellow stamens make it a most attractive plant.
Great for your garden
Tuscany Superb is a shrub rose of very upright and attractive habit. The semi-double, scented flowers are a fabulous deep crimson purple with a velvety sheen. Being a neat, small rose it will sit very happily in the mixed border or associating with small evergreen shrubs such as Daphne and Sarcococca, or grasses. The flower colour is best seen in good light as the depth of colour will be lost in shade.
